Hosting a party for one child is often hard enough. But what happens when you have multiples such as twins, triplets, and maybe more? It may becoming just a little bit harder to plan a party for more than one child on the same day. But there are lots of ideas and ways to make a birthday special for each child.
Birthday Parties for Multiples
Birthdays are one of the biggest and great occasions that we celebrate. Every day someone has a birthday and celebrates it. But there are also some people that share that birthday with siblings. How do you create the perfect birthday party or celebration when you have twins or multiples from birth? Infants and toddlers don’t really understand that they are sharing a birthday with someone else. So having just one theme for smaller children should not be a problem. Many children of the same age appreciate similar things so toddlers would like to have the same theme. Cartoon characters are a great hit for children. You may want to hire an entertainer to dress and your child’s favorite television star. If you can’t hire someone for your party, you can even rent Costumes from a local costume shop. For older teens and preteens, they may have a better sense of individuality and want to express themselves differently. They may want separate themes to their party. One child may want a luau during the summer or even a party with a bonfire at night. Another child may want a slumber party or a dance party. Let the children come to a conclusion as to what would be best for them both. And they are probably going to have a separate group of friends. This could be slightly more expensive as the children grow older. You may even find it cheaper to hire a caterer for your event. They will be able to serve a large group for a sensible amount of money. For the birthday cakes, it would probably be best to go ahead and give each child their own, unless you have multiples in the high numbers and it becomes expensive. Local Bakeries can create beautiful cakes and can make any style that your child wants. There are some bakeries that make extravagant and wonderful creations. And they may be able to create more desserts for the party as well. For Entertainment, older groups may be more expensive. Talk with your kids and come up with a solution that fits everyone’s budget and will be able to satisfy the whole group. You may want to rent a movie or hire a disc jockey to play some fun music. Consider hiring a psychic or a tarot card reader for the group. When you are purchasing gifts for your kids, think of what is age appropriate. It may be cute to dress smaller twins or triplets up in identical matching suits, but teenagers probably won’t like that idea. If there is something that both children really want and it is identical, purchase them in different colors to differentiate between each owner. Also, shop around to find the best deal. You may find a sale that you cannot pass up. Having multiples does not necessarily mean that you have to buy everything in duplicates. Consider buying one bigger gift that can be shared amongst the group such as a game console or taking them on a special trip that they have been longing to go on. To save you on time and money, ask friends and family to help in anyway that they can. Even if they watch or baby-sit your children while you shop would be a big help. Ask them to help set up for the big bash. Cut corners and save money and time as often as possible. If you just can’t decide what needs to be done, hire a party coordinator. They will know what is a good idea for each age group and the new trends that are popular. Make sure that each child feels special and that even though they were born with other siblings doesn’t make them any less special. They are individuals and should be treated as such from birth until they are old and gray. |
